What is the key to a smooth claims process?

Cooperation and trust between you and the Insurance Company! When you provide the report and all communication afterward, give as much accurate information as possible and provide police reports and witness statements as required.

How soon after I make a claim will I hear from someone?

You should hear from an adjuster within 24 hours. We’ll also touch base with you around the same time to make sure you’ve connected with your adjuster. To make sure everything is going smoothly, we’ll also give you a follow up call about a week later – but don’t hesitate to give us a call if you need us sooner.

Is Cornerstone able to confirm whether my loss is covered?

No, only an adjuster able to confirm whether a loss is covered or the value of your settlement, but we are here to help you through the claims process and be your advocate!

Who should I contact if I have questions about my specific claim?

The adjuster from the insurance company will be the best source of information regarding an ongoing claim. You can call your adjuster directly or reach out to us and we would be happy to connect you with your adjuster.

How will a claim impact my premium and/or coverage?

No two claims are the same, and the circumstances of each claim can have varying impacts on your coverage and premiums. Your broker at Cornerstone will be able to educate you on how a specific claim may impact your policy going forward.
